NOTES FOR THE PERFORMER
A cheerful melody flowing over a relaxed cha-cha rhythmical background forms the quintessence of this easy piece. The melody consists of two sections: a verse in minor (see mm. 9-17), followed by a chorus in major (see mm. 31-37). The second half of this piece (starting from m. 64) is based on a gradual layered build-up to a climax (mm. 80-87, in the repeat) and leads to a final return of the chorus. Although the score provides written-out two measure breaks, the percussion group is invited to come up with challenging alternatives. In case the orchestra has a good rhythm section (in particular a skillful latin piano player) you may occasionally leave out the cha-cha patterns in either woodwinds or brass.
